Of Geological Time responds to the Organ Pipes National Park, exploring multispecies entanglements within the site in relation to geological time. Using both digital and cyanotype photographic processes, the body of work aims to illuminate the complex, co-dependent and mutually reinforcing relationships between humans and more-than-human others. Informed by posthumanism and Anthropocene politics, Of Geological Time expands the notion of the ‘geological’ to encompass the vast scales of time certified by geological records. By aligning humans with timescales that extend beyond our own experience, the work aims to shift focus away from human-centred understandings of time and ecology.
Of Geological Time was shown in Site Eight Gallery at RMIT University as a part of my Master of Photography degree.
